Welcome to the
Bodymind Studies Institute!
The Bodymind Studies
Institute (BSI)
was founded in 2008 by Jim Eubanks DC, MS,
CSCS in order
to develop a comprehensive, evidence-based
organization for the education and training of
mindfulness-based human performance, and scientific
research of the human
bodymind. Dr.
Eubanks is a chiropractic physician (DC) and certified
strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) with a
Master of Science (MS) degree in sports science and
rehabilitation. He has been a formal student of
mindfulness meditation and related practices since
2003.
Dr. Eubanks' comprehensive education enables him to
provide a complete approach to bodymind studies as they
relate to human performance. He incorporates his training
in mindfulness clinically at Priester Chiropractic Clinic
in Charlotte, NC,
teaching patients the benefits of mindful awareness in
order to encourage optimal movement patterns and
healthy lifestyles. He continues to train and teach
formally in mindfulness meditation and related
practices, including as President and Director of the
501(c)(3) non-profit the Center for Pragmatic Buddhism
(CPB), which
offers a secular approach to mindfulness meditation
for persons living an active, socially engaged
lifestyle. CPB meets each Thursday evening in
Charlotte, NC, St. Louis, MO and Annapolis, MD.
BSI is currently planning the implementation of its
research division, which will evaluate biopsychosocial
factors related to mindfulness practices and human
performance.
