James E. Eubanks, Jr., DC, MS, CSCS (Director and Mindfulness-Based Performance Specialist) is a chiropractic physician at Priester Chiropractic Clinic in Charlotte, NC, a sports performance specialist, and an instructor of mindfulness meditation practices. Dr. Eubanks is President and Director of the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Center for Pragmatic Buddhism (CPB), which offers the general public a secular, scientifically-oriented approach to formal mindfulness meditation. CPB currently has chapters in St. Louis, MO, and Charlotte, NC, and a Meditation Center in Annapolis, MD.
Dr. Eubanks graduated with honors from Furman University in Greenville, SC with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in philosophy (comparative and Asian studies) and pre-medical studies. While at Furman, Eubanks held the position of chair of health promotions of the school’s wellness program and was the chief researcher and writer for the Furman University Health Newsletter. He was the chief instructor of the Furman University Learning in Retirement (FULIR) Tai Chi program, a national program located in over 280 college and universities across the US. He volunteered for the Greenville Mental Health Association as a Crisis Interventionist. Dr. Eubanks studied formal Zen Buddhism for three years and was authorized by his teacher to instruct the public in meditation after successfully completing a rigorous curriculum. He is now a personal student of Dr. David E. Shaner (see bio below).
Dr. Eubanks received a Bachelor of Science (BS) in life science from Logan University in St. Louis, MO and graduated with a Doctorate of Chiropractic (DC) from Logan College of Chiropractic. He received a Master of Science (MS) in Sports Science and Rehabilitation at Logan University in 2009 after completing an internship as a Sports Performance Coach at Velocity Sports Performance in St. Louis, MO. While at Velocity, he learned and utilized Nike's SPARQ training program. He remains under the tutelage of Dr. Norman Kettner (see bio below), who is an authority on functional imaging of the human brain. Dr. Eubanks received his CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) through the National Association for Strength and Conditioning (NSCA) in October 2009.
Dr. Eubanks has been a martial arts practitioner for over a decade and is the chief consultant to the MMA Program at the Elite Physiology Institute (EPI) in St. Louis, MO.

Scott McKinney, BS, CSCS (Sports Performance Coach) is a sports performance specialist and former Force Recon Marine. He is Director of the Elite Physiology Institute (EPI) in St. Louis, MO, and is currently completing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Sports Science and Rehabilitation at Logan University. Beginning in September of 2010, Scott will begin the Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) program at Logan.

David E. Shaner, PhD (Chief Bodymind Studies Advisor) is a long-time practitioner of mindfulness meditation, a distinguished scholar, and chief instructor of the Eastern Ki Federation. Dr. Shaner is a pioneer in bodymind studies and has considerable experience in successfully implementing positive changes to human performance across a variety of endeavors. He is a former NCAA collegiate ski racer and member of the Olympic Valley USA Ski Team coached by Jean-Pierre Pascal. For over four decades, he has been a formal student of the great Japanese teacher and martial artist Koichi Tohei Sensei. Each year, Shaner Sensei teaches Ki development and Ki-Aikido seminars around the world.
Dr. Shaner is also the Chair of the Department of Philosophy at Furman University and is the Gordon Poteat Professor of Philosophy and Asian Studies. Dr. Shaner also led the initiative to establish the one-of-a-kind Place of Peace project at Furman, bringing the first ever authentic Japanese Buddhist temple to the States as an extension of Furman's growing Asian Studies program. Dr. Eubanks assisted his teacher, Dr. Shaner, in a public dedication for the Place of Peace, which was officially attended by the Japanese Consulate. In the Place of Peace, Dr. Shaner now teaches a new course entitled, "Realizing Bodymind," where students are able to learn and experience the principles of living with a unified mind and body (bodymind) first-hand; it is the first college course of its kind.
He is founder and principle of CONNECT Consulting, LLC, having worked with major companies across the US and Japan, including Frito-Lay, Duracell, Gillette, Ryobi, Owens Corning and Synthetic Industries, helping them assess, plan and successfully implement major culture change initiatives for their continued and expanded success around the globe.

Norman Kettner DC, DACBR (Chief Science and Research Advisor) is a renowned radiologist and chair of radiology and diagnostic imaging at Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Kettner is Ad Hoc Reviewer NIH/NCCAM and was selected by the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) as Academician of the Year in 2005, and Researcher of the Year in 2008. He travels extensively to conduct research on neuroimaging of the human brain using functional MRI (fMRI), and is collaboratively involved with efforts to map pain pathways in the central nervous system.
He is a contributing author to dozens of peer-reviewed journals and textbooks, including the recently released, Integrative Pain Medicine.
